1-Day Kilimanjaro Hike to Shira Plateau 3500 Meters - Kilimanjaro Latest itinerary

Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi and drive to West Kilimanjaro, passing through a lush forest reserve. Your hike starts at 3400 meters on the scenic Shira Plateau, offering stunning views of Kibo Peak, the northern glaciers, and the vast plains of Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Enjoy a moderate 4 to 5-hour guided hike through volcanic landscapes, with plenty of time to take in the beauty of the surroundings. Pause for a relaxed picnic lunch under the open sky and soak in the quiet majesty of the mountain.

No hiking boots are necessary comfortable closed shoes like trainers are sufficient. We recommend bringing a sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, a fleece, rain jacket, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. At Shira One Camp, you'll meet climbers on day two of their ascent via the Lemosho Route.

After hike, you'll walk back with your guide to the starting point, where your vehicle awaits to take you back to Moshi and drop you at your hotel.
