>> You’ll be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 a.m. and then proceed to the Mount Kenya region, where you’ll spend the afternoon at Sweetwaters Game Ranch. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the tented camp here. Sweetwaters is the only rehabilitation sanctuary in Kenya for abused chimpanzees. Two groups live here in an environment that is as close to their natural habitat as possible. The ranch is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Maisha Sweetwaters Camp. The meal plan includes lunch and dinner.

•  Accommodation: Maisha Sweetwaters Camp Mid-range tented camp located just outside Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Laikipia Plateau)

>> You will leave Ol Pejeta in the morning and drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. The park is Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and features one of the largest concentrations of black rhinoceros in the world, as well as a large population of white rhinos. Also of interest is an area fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes. Predators here include lions, leopards, and large pythons hiding in the dense woodlands—which may occasionally be seen crossing roads or dangling from trees. Other game includes Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, the long-eared leaf-nosed bats, Colobus monkeys, rock hyrax, hippos, waterbucks, impalas, striped hyenas, bat-eared foxes, wildcats, reedbucks, and golden cats. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.

>> You will have an early breakfast and then enjoy a game drive as you exit the park. You’ll drive via the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara in time for lunch at the Mara Serena Safari Lodge. After the game drive that lasts until dusk, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay at Mara Simba Lodge.

>> The whole day will be spent exploring the park in search of the Big Five. An optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at $450 USD per person. The Mara offers wildlife in variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe—over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopards, and many kinds of antelopes, and elephants. It is here that the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna: lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures. An optional visit to a local Maasai village ($35 USD) can also be arranged. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Mara Simba Lodge.
