The Great Rift Valley is a series of contiguous geographic depressions, approximately 7,000km, that runs from Lebanon in Asia to Mozambique in southeast Africa. While the name continues in some usages, it is rarely used in geology as it is considered an imprecise merging of separate though related rift and fault systems. This valley extends northward for 5,950km through the eastern part of Africa. Several deep, elongated lakes, called ribbon lakes, exist on the floor of this Rift Valley.

Day 1: Nairobi - Lake Naivasha
Day 2: Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru

Day 1: Nairobi - Lake Naivasha

>> We pick you up from the airport or hotel and depart for Lake Naivasha, passing by the Rift Valley for a brief stop to view the extensive nature area. We drive down to the floor of the valley, arriving at Hell’s Gate National Park for a 1 hour cycling experience with nature, culminating at the gorge for a hike before cycling back for an hour to the gate. We check in at the hotel and have lunch. After refreshments, we have an evening boat ride on the lake, viewing the sunset then return for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru

>> We have an early breakfast and proceed on an hour's drive to Lake Nakuru. The park is famous for black and white rhinos, flamingos, lions and leopards. We have a 4-hour game-viewing drive and enjoy lunch at Nakuru. We then proceed on a 3-hour drive to Nairobi, where the safari ends.
