ABOUT 11 DAYS TANZANIA SAFARI

11 days Tanzania safari tour is a well-paced, comprehensive 10 nights/11days safari in Tanzania, that gives a chance to experience authentic Maasai culture and an unforgettable wildlife viewing experience in Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park – some of the very best Tanzania national parks for safaris. During this tour you will have the chance to visit all the parks in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit (including three nights in the Serengeti), as well as have fascinating cultural experiences at Lake Eyasi with the Hadzabe tribe.

DAY 0: ARRIVAL - ARUSHA/MOSHI

Upon arrival at Arusha/Kilimanjaro airport, your Tanzania Royal Tour Tanzania guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi Tanzania. Settle into your accommodation, relax and get used to the African atmosphere. Ready to start your 11 Days Tanzania Safari. Arusha is a city in northern Tanzania and the capital of the Arusha Region, with a population of 416,442 plus 323,198 in the surrounding Arusha District Located below Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, Arusha has a temperate climate. The city is close to the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Arusha National Park on Mount Meru.

DAY 1: ARUSHA/MOSHI– ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you'll depart from your Arusha or Moshi accommodations and drive to the park. After your entrance to the park you will embark on a game drive through the park. Your drive will pass you past park landmarks such as the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater - sometimes known as 'Little Ngorongoro'

Also, your Safari Vehicle will go under the Fig tree (Ficus thonningii) whose roots have grown to take the shape of an arch, large enough for a Safari car (elephant size) to pass underneath you may stop get out of the car and take pictures. During lunch you will stop at a picnic site where you will have your lunch there after proceed with the game drive. At around four you will start leaving the National park for Arusha where you will spend the night!

DAY 2: ARUSHA– TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After a delicious breakfast at 8 am, set off on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. It is a drive of about 2½ hours in a southwesterly direction. You reach your lodge/camp in time for lunch. After lunch, have some time to relax and then you are off on your first game drive of the 11 days Tanzania safari.

Tarangire National Park is an incredibly beautiful park, renowned for its exclusivity away from the crowds and huge elephant herds. It is named after the Tarangire River which provides the only permanent water for wildlife. Its grassy plains are dotted with towering baobabs – the bizarre ‘upside-down trees’. Tarangire National Park hosts some of Tanzania’s greatest concentrations of wildlife, especially during the dry season of June to September when vast herds of elephants, wildebeest, hartebeest, zebra, giraffe, Buffalo, Gazelles, and impala, file in large numbers to the banks of the river. Predators like lions, hyenas, and leopards are drawn like a magnet to this buffet of concentrated prey. After your exciting game drive, return to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK- LAKE MANYARA

On day three of your 11 days Tanzania safari, enjoy a full day in wonderful Tarangire. You’ll have breakfast at the lodge/camp and go out early for a morning game drive and then return to the lodge/camp for lunch and some relaxation in the heat of the day. You’ll go out in the early afternoon again for a longer game drive.

Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where arid-area antelopes: fringe-eared Oryx and the long-necked gerenuk can be seen. It also hosts Waterbucks, Baboons, Cheetahs, Caracals, Honey Badgers, African wild dogs, and Dwarf Mongoose. Over 550 bird species have also been recorded in the park, and specials include the endemic and colorful Yellow-collared Lovebird, Common Ostrich, and Kori Bustard. After finishing a game drive at Tarangire National Park, you can make your way to Lake Manyara, which is situated about 70 kilometers (43 miles) southeast of Tarangire. The journey from Tarangire to Lake Manyara takes approximately 1-2 hours by road, depending on the specific route and road conditions.

DAY 4: LAKE MANYARA- KARATU

Lake Manyara National Park is known for its diverse ecosystem and stunning landscapes. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, as well as its large population of elephants, hippos, giraffes, and an abundance of birdlife. The park's centerpiece is Lake Manyara itself, a shallow alkaline lake that attracts a variety of waterbirds, including flamingos. Once you reach Lake Manyara, you can embark on a game drive to explore the park and observe its wildlife. The park offers several well-established tracks and trails, allowing you to navigate through different habitats and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. After finishing a game drive at Lake Manyara National Park, you can make your way to Ngorongoro Crater. But you will spend your night at Karatu, with a driving distance of approximately 70 kilometers (43 miles). The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours by car, depending on road conditions and traffic you will spend the night there and prepare for tomorrow schedule.

DAY 5: NGORONGORO CRATER AND CONSERVATION AREA (GAME DRIVE)

In the morning you’ll have breakfast at the lodge/camp and prepare yourself for your tour to Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area, it will take almost 1hr and 45min from Karatu to reach Ngorongoro Crater. The tour typically involves a guided safari experience, either in a 4x4 vehicle or on foot, with an experienced guide who will provide information about the wildlife, landscape, and cultural aspects of the area. Game drives within the crater offer excellent opportunities to spot the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) as well as numerous other species. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area surrounding the crater is home to the Maasai people, who live alongside the wildlife in a unique coexistence. You can take your lunch and continue a whole day game drive in order to explore the crater and its surroundings thoroughly. After your exciting game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: NGORONGORO CRATER -MAASAI VILLAGE(TOUR)- SERENGETI

In the morning you’ll have breakfast at the lodge/camp and prepare yourself for your tour to Maasai village. Many tours also include visits to Maasai villages located within the conservation area. These visits offer a chance to learn about the Maasai people's traditional way of life, their customs, and their unique relationship with the wildlife and environment. When you visit a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro highlands. Spend time with the villagers, find out about their way of life, and join in their lively singing and dancing. Learn about some of the customary practices such as fire-making and beadwork. You will also Take your lunch

DAY 7: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (GAME DRIVE)

On day six of your 11 days Tanzania Safari, experience another full-day safari in Serengeti National Park. You will have breakfast and lunch at the lodge, with a morning and afternoon game drive included. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Maasai. The plains host the world’s greatest remaining concentration of plains animals. Packs of African Wild Dog, Prides of Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, and Spotted Hyena are often seen tailing the herds of Buffalo, Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelle, Topi, Elephant, and Impala. Serengeti also hosts over 500 bird species including the Ostrich, Kori Bustard, Ground Hornbill, Secretary bird, etc. After another fantastic day in Serengeti, you will return to the lodge for final dinner here, before heading to bed and a good night’s rest. Tomorrow you go to the most famous crater on Earth!

DAY 8: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (GAME DRIVE)- LAKE NATRON

Today we will suggest a very early wake up in order to go out on a game drive when the animals are most active and to see one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness. After the game drive, we will return to the camp for a rewarding brunch before making our way to Lake Natron. The journey typically takes around 5-6 hours, depending on road conditions and the route taken from Serengeti to Lake Natron. Important to note that the road conditions can vary, especially during the rainy season, so it's advisable to check the current state of the roads before traveling. Once you arrive at the entrance gate of Lake Natron area, a local Maasai guide will escort you to your accommodation. Visiting this whole area without a local guide is not allowed, so any excursion you do will be in his presence. You’ll check-in and have time to freshen up, and you take your dinner and prepare for tomorrow tour.

DAY 9: LAKE NATRON-LAKE EYASI

Early in the morning you will have a good breakfast and then accompanied by your local guide, you’ll explore the lake on foot. The ground is quite slippery and muddy, so be prepared to slowly slide over it in order to avoid falling. It’s very shallow for quite some time though, so it’s up to you to see how far you want to go to get close to the flamingos. We’ll stay until lunch time, you will return to your accommodation and take your lunch. Then get ready for your he journeys from Lake Natron to Lake Eyasi involves a scenic drive through the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania. You will pass through rural areas, small villages, and enjoy the natural beauty of the region. You will overnight stay at Lake Eyasi. There are various accommodation options available, including tented camps and lodges that provide a comfortable stay in the wilderness. .

DAY 10: LAKE EYASI

Today will be very special and different. You will wake up very early, just before sunrise, and follow your guide until he finds the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last true nomadic tribes in Africa. After some explanations about the tribe, you will join them in going about their daily morning activities. This experience is off the beaten track and does not feel touristic by any means. The photographic opportunities are out of this world. The experiences you can have with the tribe include either joining the men on their daily hunt or joining the women on their daily fruit gathering session. Either way, you will learn about many aspects of the Hadzabe way of living. This will definitely be a highlight of your safari! After finishing your activities with the tribe, we will visit beautiful Lake Eyasi, a shallow Salt Lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley.

DAY 11: LAKE EYASI-ARUSHA

After an early morning breakfast, you depart for your cultural tour with the Hadza community. This is your day with typical cultural tribe and engage in real hunting together. It is a tribe of hunters and collectors, which formerly inhabited the Serengeti, but was forced away by stronger and more aggressive tribes. The Hadza live in traditional ways, hunting game such as dik-diks and collecting honey. Their huts are simple, built in a few hours and as easily abandoned. Like another people of hunters and collectors, the San tribe of the Kalahari in southern Africa, the Hadza speak a click language. After hunting and engagement with the tribe, you depart for arusha with a stop for your lunch on the way. Later drop to your hotel.
