Mount kilimanjaro day hike from Arusha

Begin your adventure bright and early, around 5 AM, from the vibrant city of Arusha. To avoid any traffic delays, it is recommended to depart even earlier. The duration of your journey to Kilimanjaro National Park will vary depending on the location of your hotel. Generally, the drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours, ensuring you reach the park promptly.

After a delicious early breakfast, you'll meet your knowledgeable guide and commence the Kilimanjaro day hike. The journey begins on the western side of the mountain, leading you through enchanting forests until you reach the Londorossi Gate, situated at an elevation of 2,100 meters. Here, your ascent to the summit begins, gradually ascending over 1,000 meters through the lush tropical mountain forests.

This is a beautiful hike up through the lush rainforest where you may spot buffalos and colobus monkey. You will be escorted by a knowledgeable guide who will point out the different species of plants and animals until you reach a viewpoint. After a break and picnic lunch, you begin your descent back to the park gate.
