Aquila is a 4-star malaria free lodge in the Karoo, a comfortable drive from Cape Town. Situated a 2-hour drive from the city, it is a great African safari getaway. The reserve is a 10 000 hectare conservancy and home to the Big Five—elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. There is a pool bar and lounge available for drinks and snacks. Aquila offers something for everyone including day trips or overnight safaris, horseback or quad bike safaris, with a spa and children’s entertainment area.

>> The Aquila combo safari combines a 2- to 3-hour game drive in an open-air 4x4 safari vehicle and a 1.5 hour horseback or quad bike safari. Horseback safaris are alongside horseback safari specialists.

The quad bike safari day tour involves roughing it up in the 10,000 hectare conservancy. The quad bike tour is a firm favourite. Guests must be 16 years and older and not weigh more than 95kg.

From 9:00 am -10:00 am, breakfast is served then have a 2 to 3 hour game drive. At 1:00pm, a buffet lunch. Then at 2:00 pm a 1.5 hour horseback or quad bike safari.

No horse riding experience needed.

Shared transfers from Cape Town to the lodge and return are not included but if required, please advise and we will gladly quote at extra cost.
