Day 01: Arrival in Addis Ababa

You'll spend the day getting familiar with the city and exploring some of its key landmarks. You'll visit the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the famous fossil “Lucy,” which provides fascinating insights into early human evolution. Afterward, you will explore the Holy Trinity Cathedral, an important Ethiopian Orthodox Church, known for its stunning architecture and religious significance. In the evening, you will enjoy a traditional Ethiopian meal at a local restaurant, where you can savor dishes like injera (sour flatbread) with various stews. Day 02: Addis Ababa to Danakil Depression
>> In the morning, you’ll take a flight from Addis Ababa to Semera, the gateway to the Danakil Depression. From Semera, you'll drive to Hamedela, passing through the vast, arid landscapes of the Afar Region. First, you'll visit Ragad, a salt mining area where local workers extract salt from the earth and transport it via camel. This is an excellent opportunity to see traditional salt harvesting methods in action. You'll continue to Dallol, where you will witness a surreal landscape shaped by volcanic activity, featuring colorful mineral formations and active hot springs. Afterward, you will visit Lake Assal, a salt lake that offers an otherworldly view. If time permits, you'll enjoy the mesmerizing sunset at the lake before continuing your drive to Hamedela for an overnight stay.

Day 03: Hamedela to Lake Assal, Dallol, and Erta Ale
