Tsavo East National Park is one of the best national parks in Kenya and is unlike anywhere else in East Africa. It has a reputation for big herds of elephants (often caked in the red Tsavo dust), big cats (including maneless male lions), and wild backcountry that is fun to explore away from the crowds. Because of its proximity to the Kenyan coast, safaris can start either at Mombasa, Diani Beach, Watamu or Malindi.

Day 1: Coastal Beach Hotel to Tsavo East

>> You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel on the coast, whether in Mombasa, Diani Beach, Malindi, or Watamu. The journey will continue through Mombasa towards the entrance gate of the national park, where our safari adventure begins.

On the first game drive, you will experience the thrill of a true safari, spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, and more. After the game drive, you will check in at the lodge, enjoy lunch and have time to relax during the hottest part of the day. From the lodge, you will have a spectacular view of the waterhole, a vital water source for various wildlife due to the climate.

After tea time in the afternoon, you will embark on a second extended game drive through the park in search of its diverse animal inhabitants, often called the “theater of the wild.”

As dusk approaches, you will continue to explore the beauty of nature and its wildlife. After a day filled with unforgettable impressions, you can enjoy dinner at your charming lodge.

Day 2: Tsavo East to Coastal Beach Hotel

>> On this beautiful day, you will start with an early cup of coffee or tea. The early morning safari begins at daybreak, the best time to see the big cats!

After the morning game drive, enjoy a hearty breakfast. Then, pack your luggage and check out. Afterward, you will have another opportunity to explore the park in search of wildlife before it is time to say goodbye to nature.

During the lunch break, you will stop at Kilimanjaro Restaurant for a quick visit and enjoy lunch at an extra cost.

Once lunch is finished, the tour will take you back to your hotel or cottage. In the late afternoon, your driver will bid you farewell. Kwaheri! Goodbye until next time!
