ABOUT 3-Day Awash National Park - Ethiopia

The park largely consists of acacia and grassland as well as a variety of intriguing volcanic scenery. Zebra should be feeding alongside Beisa oryx and kudu in the open spaces and grass plains. The little dik-dik is frequently well hidden in the shade of the acacia thorn, along with olive and hamadryas baboons, Colobus, and grivet monkeys, near the river. Lions, jackals, and caracals are occasionally spotted, as are cats like cheetahs, servals, and leopards, though they are less common.

Day 01: Drive to Awash National Park

>> Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative of Yama Ethiopia Tours and start your drive to Awash National Park. Visit the southern region of the Awash National Park to see a variety of wild animals, including oryx, gazelle, warthog, kudu, baboon, monkey, and other species of birds. The stunning aspect of the wildlife drive in the national park is also the stunning Rift Valley land formation over the Awash River waterfalls and various perspectives.

Day 02: More Excursions in Awash

>> You may begin the five-hour hike to the volcano by driving to the foothills of Mount Fentale. Once you've finished your picnic meal, return to the lovely natural spa or palm pool. Drive to Lake Beseka, which is close to the Hyena Cave, after eating your picnic lunch at the hot springs to observe the hyenas emerge from the cave. Here, you can see at least 20 to 30 hyenas while taking in the rare pink flamingos and other waterfowl in the lake. Once there, spend the night, then return to Awash National Park.

Day 03: Drive Back to Addis Ababa

>> Early in the morning, drive to the northern part of the national park to visit the large-scale palm tree forest near to the natural host spring. On the way, you can spot different kinds of animals like kudus, dik-diks and warthogs. At the hot spring spot, you can also enjoy swimming at the natural hot spring pool. In the afternoon, drive back to Addis and transfer to your hotel or airport.
