Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

>> Nairobi - Masai Mara (Approx: 265kms - 5 hours).

Meal plan: Lunch, dinner.

At 07h30, we will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or the Nairobi airport. We begin our tour by passing local farming communities, pausing to enjoy dramatic views of the Great Rift Valley.

Moving on to scenic Kenyan and Maasai vistas, we will descend to the savannah, home to immense herds of wildlife. View, photograph or simply soak up this ancient landscape.

In the afternoon, we’ll journey out to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve in search of all the wildlife you had imagined.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve

>> We’ll be up early to view the park’s abundant wildlife, said to be the densest of any park in the region. This will be a day of unlimited game drives over the golden fields and past the distinctive acacia trees adorning these plains.

Look for Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The birdlife is also abundant. Hopefully, you will be here during the great migration season.

Primarily made up of wildebeest and zebra, the migrating animals cross into the park by the thousands at the Mara River, also the site of hippos and waiting crocodiles. The potential drama here is inescapable as the streaming herds enter these lands for fresh grasses as the predators lie in wait.

Another optional event is an early morning hot-air balloon ride over the reserve. Take in the park below, coming to life as the fields light up and the wildlife begins a new day on the savannah. It is a magnificent experience – just ask your driver-guide to set up either or both activities.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Nairobi

>> After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp, your dedicated driver-guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi, Kenya’s colorful capital city. You can add more richness to your Masai Mara experience. You can enjoy an optional visit to one of the local villages. There, you’ll meet the Maasai and see their lifestyle up close.

On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano, which is a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. You can opt to drive via Naivasha for lunch/excursions at an extra cost or drive straight to Nairobi and pass by Kiambethu Farm for the tea farm tour inclusive of a three-course buffet lunch (at an extra cost). Otherwise, you will drive back to the capital and later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight home.
