ABOUT 4-Day Nature Walk Murchison Falls National Park

This trip will take you to Murchison Falls National Park —Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. The park hosts over 451 bird species and 76 mammal species and is bisected by the Victoria Nile to form the Northern and Southern banks. The Nile squeezes through an 8m narrow gorge and plunges over 45m, creating the thunderous Murchison Falls. Game drives are so rewarding, hiking and boat cruises do not miss out as well in this beautiful savannah park.

Day 01: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

>> After an early breakfast, you will be briefed by the guide about the 4-day safari. You will then set off from your hotel as you embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will meet the site guide and get a briefing before heading to the bush in search of the rhinos. The tracking will take approximately 3 hours. You'll return and have lunch before proceeding with our journey to Masindi town.
You will proceed to the park and visit the top of the falls. This site gives spectacular views of some parts of the park as well as Murchison Falls. You will take photos and proceed to the lodge for check-in, relaxation, and overnight stay.

Day 02: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

>> You'll wake up early, have breakfast, and set off by 6:00 am for the game drive. The drive gives possibilities of catching the early risers and big cats in action before they retire to their havens. Other animals you will see during the drive include Lake Chad buffaloes, African elephants, Lelwel’s hartebeest, Nubian giraffes, oribis, among other species. Common bird species include the Goliath heron, African skimmer, and the Red-throated bee-eater.
Shortly after lunch, you'll head for a launch cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. This water safari will expose you to schools of hippos, Nile crocodile busking by the riverside and different bird species, and other wildlife drinking water at the shores. Depending on the fatigue, you can choose to head back to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 03: Nature Walk and Bird Watching in Murchison Falls National Park

>> You'll wake up, have breakfast, meet your armed park ranger explore the park on foot. You will be able to see various animals such as giraffes, elephants, baboons, warthogs, different tree and plant species, closely head back to the lodge for a hot lunch. Afterward, you'll head out for bird watching. This park has a variety of bird species, has both forest and water birds like open-billed stork, Abyssinian ground hornbill, giant heron, veracious dove, and many others. You'll listen to the sweet sounds of the birds and enjoy the cool breeze. Then, you'll head back to the lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 04: Transfer to Kampala

>> You'll wake up and have breakfast. Shortly after, you'll check out of the lodge. Your journey to Kampala will take approximately 6 hours. You will arrive in Kampala and be dropped off at a place of your convenience.
