ABOUT 6-Days Kwa-Zulu Natal Hluhluwe Bush & Water Safari

You will combine 2 game reserves in Kwazulu Natal, the more off-the-beaten-track safari destination on South Africa's East Coast. You will start your adventure at Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, the most famous Big 5 game reserve in this area. It is known for its high rhino population and daily game drives. The second part will take you to Zululand's Ghost Mountain Inn, where you will experience a boat cruise, and, to round it all off, you also have a voucher for a spa treatment included.

Day 01: Durban to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve

>> On arrival in Durban, you will be met and collected for your road transfer to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. The park is about a 3-hour drive from the airport. You will be staying at the only privately owned lodge in the park, Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge. Depending on your arrival time, you will be able to join your first afternoon shared game drive.

Day 02-03: Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Safari

>> Wake up before dawn for the morning game drive, starting at sunrise. Savour a hot coffee and an early-morning snack before boarding the safari vehicle and departing the lodge in search of animals. Spend 3 hours traversing the bush and looking out for wildlife before they retreat to the shelter of a tree in the heat of the day.

After returning to the lodge for a delectable hot breakfast, you’ll have time to relax and unwind, surrounded by serene African wilderness. Lounge at the pool, delve into a captivating book, have a blissful nap, or simply soak up the sights, sounds and scents of nature.

Afternoon tea is served before your next game drive, departing around 3:30 - 4:30 PM, depending on the time of year. Dinner is served before you settle in for the night to the symphony of the wild.

Day 04: Hluhluwe-iMfolozi to Ghost Mountain

>> Head out on a final morning game drive in search of the last remaining animals that have eluded you. Following a delicious breakfast, depart the lodge by road and transfer to Ghost Mountain. The drive will take about 2 hours, and after settling in, relax by the pool and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 05: Ghost Mountain

>> Today, you will go on a boat cruise on Lake Jozini. Lake Jozini lies in a dramatic setting at the foot of the Lebombo Mountains and is one of South Africa’s largest dams. Several exquisite gorges abound with cycads and a wide variety of birds. On the western side of the dam, one might see elephants, rhinos, hippos and crocodiles. You also have a ZAR 500 spa voucher included in your stay, so before or after the boat cruise, you can enjoy a spa treatment.
