Day 1: Londorossi Gate-Mti Mkubwa
>> In the morning, your guide and mountain crew will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to Londorossi Gate (2,389m), the western entry point to Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, you'll complete registration and secure your climbing permits with the search and rescue service, ensuring all formalities are in place for a safe ascent. Once ready, you'll embark on a 6km trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,785m), which typically takes about 3-4 hours. The journey begins through lush rainforest, where sightings of native flora and fauna are common. Given the frequent showers in this zone, carrying rain gear is highly recommended. The trail’s elevation gain provides an excellent introduction to the mountain's diverse landscapes, setting the stage for the climb ahead. By the end of the day, you’ll reach Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you’ll settle in and enjoy your first night on Kilimanjaro under the canopy of the African rainforest.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa-Shira1 Camp
>> Leaving Mti Mkubwa Camp, you'll trek toward Shira Camp, moving from dense rainforest into Kilimanjaro’s beautiful moorland zone. The trail ascends steadily, providing sweeping views of the Shira Plateau and the distant, rugged peaks. Along the way, you’ll spot unique flora like giant lobelias and senecios, characteristic of this high-altitude ecosystem. As you gain elevation, the air cools, and the landscape transforms into open heath, with expansive skies and striking mountain vistas. After approximately 5-6 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Shira Camp at 3,505m. Here, you’ll experience Kilimanjaro’s first open, starlit night on the plateau, with panoramic views of Kibo Peak in the distance.

Day 3: Shira 1 To Moir Hut
>> You’ll trek from Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut, journeying deeper into Kilimanjaro’s striking alpine desert. Starting on the vast Shira Plateau, the trail ascends gradually, unveiling breathtaking views of Kibo Peak and the impressive Shira Cathedral. As you move through the open, rocky landscape, vegetation becomes sparse and the air cools, with volcanic formations adding texture to the scenery. The trek marks the completion of Kilimanjaro's South Circuit, renowned for its panoramic views of the summit from multiple stunning angles. With each step, you’ll witness changing landscapes and expansive vistas, building anticipation as you approach Barafu.
