ABOUT 8-Day Sable Safari - Southern Kafue Explorer
The 8-day Roan Safari - Southern Kafue Explorer features the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and the vast Kafue National Park. Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is the only national park in Zambia that is home to the square-lipped rhinoceros. The Kafue National Park is the biggest Zambian National Park, with more than 500 bird species recorded and a number of iconic mammal species, including sable and roan antelopes.

Day 01: Arrival in Livingstone
>> Upon arrival at Livingstone's "Harry Mwanga Nkumbula" International Airport (LVI), we welcome you and transfer you to the lodge where you'll do the final preparations for the 8-day Roan Safari - Southern Kafue Explorer. Accommodation will be in comfortable rooms.

Day 02: Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park / Victoria Falls
>> Did you know that Livingstone's Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park has square-lipped rhinos, aka white rhinos? In the morning, when it is still cool, you will head to the national park and go on a walking safari. This is our chance to see nature from the ground level, check for tracks, and talk about plants and their use. The aim is to find some of the white rhinos and see them from a close range. After this exhausting exercise, you'll have a picnic by the river.
A visit to Livingstone isn't complete without seeing the Victoria Falls. To do this is the plan for the afternoon.
Accommodation is in rooms. Lunch and dinner are at your own expense.

Day 03: Southern Kafue National Park
>> You'll be leaving Livingstone, by the way Northern Rhodesia's first capital, northward and head back to the wild. The southern Kafue National Park is our target. Mopane and Teak woodlands, the Nanzhila Plains, Lake Itezhi-Tezhi. You'll look for buffalos and elephants. Did you know that "Game Rangers International" operates Camp Phoenix in this part of the national park? This is the release facility for orphaned elephant babies. You will pay them a visit on day 4 when it is feeding time for the young elephants. Accommodation is in our comfortable canvas tents.

Day 04: Southern Kafue National Park

Day 05: Central Kafue National Park
>> You'll move further north but still in the Kafue National Park. This park is the largest and most biodiverse in Zambia. It's similar in size to Wales or Massachusetts. Since you are inside the national park, you'll do a game drive to the next camp. You'll cross numerous small creeks and drive over hills, always on the lookout for animals and birds. Your camp is on the banks of the Kafue River. You will stay in our comfortable canvas tents. On day 6, you will do some of the game drive loops.

Day 06: Central Kafue National Park
>> You'll move further north but still in the Kafue National Park. This park is the largest and most biodiverse in Zambia. It's similar in size to Wales or Massachusetts. Since you are inside the national park, you'll do a game drive to the next camp. You'll cross numerous small creeks and drive over hills, always on the lookout for animals and birds. Your camp is on the banks of the Kafue River. You will stay in our comfortable canvas tents. On day 6, you will do some of the game drive loops.

Day 07: Lusaka
>> After your last breakfast in the wilderness, you will pack up everything. The drive out to the Kafue National Park will be your last game drive on this safari. As soon as you reach the tarmac, you will head east towards Lusaka. Your big circle around the western part of Zambia is complete. You will finish your Kwalata Safari —the Southern Kafue Explorer in Lusaka. Accommodation will be in rooms.

Day 08: Departure
>> After a comfortable night at the lodge, you will have your last breakfast together. Depending on your flight time, we can do some sightseeing in Lusaka or just spend time relaxing. We will transfer you to Lusaka "Kenneth Kaunda" International Airport (LUN) for your departure for your onward flight.
