Mikumi National Park is a gem and perfect for a short safari. Mikumi has savannah, and waterholes and is surrounded by hills. It allows you to see a variety of animals and is home to elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalos, zebras, wildebeest, lions, leopards, and a huge number of birds. You won't regret coming!

Day 01: Adventurous Moments in Mikumi National Park

>> You'll board the early morning ferry from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, where you will be met by our colleague who will escort you to the new SGR train station and help you board the train safely. You will arrive in Morogoro in less than two hours and here you will be met by our driver who will then take you to Mikumi (it takes about two hours). Then it is up to you- either jump right into the safari car with a packed lunch or settle into your accommodation and have lunch there first!

You will spend the afternoon to an early evening exploring the wonders of Tanzanian wildlife seeing elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, lions, leopards, and a huge number of birds. In the evening, you will go back to your accommodation for a relaxing dinner and early night ready for an early start the next day.

Day 02: Sunrise Safari and Return to Zanzibar

>> You'll wake up with the sun and see the beauty of the colors changing across the plains. The cool and calm of an early morning safari is magical. You can see the animals starting to stir or on their way back from a night hunt.

After a short safari (approx 1- 1.5 hours), you will say goodbye to Mikumi and start your journey back to Zanzibar.
