ABOUT 3-Day Murchison Falls Big Five Savannah Safari

Murchison Falls is a waterfall on the Nile. At the top of Murchison Falls, the Nile forces its way through a gap in the rocks, only 7 meters wide, and tumbles 43 meters, then flows westward into Lake Albert. Murchison houses the famous African Big Four (lion, leopard, elephant, and Cape buffalo) and to complete the African Big Five game animals, you’ll stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to visit the last of the white rhinos.

Day 01: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

>> You'll set off after breakfast at 7 am and head North through the districts of Luweero and Masindi through their traditional farms and villages. You'll be stopping at Ziwa Ranch Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Then, you'll head to Masindi town with lunch en route and refueling. Afterward, you'll proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. You will go straight to tour the top and bottom of majestic falls, where the Nile crashes through a 7-meter gorge to the falls 45 meters. Numerous scenic viewpoints are a photographer's delight on this Murchison Falls safari. The most impressive view is of the foaming waters rushing into the gorge with a deafening roar. You will return to your lodge for your dinner and an overnight stay at Parkside Safari Lodge.

Day 02: Game Drive in the Peninsula

>> You'll wake up for a sumptuous breakfast served at 6:30 am. After, you will begin with an early game drive in the peninsula between the Victoria and Lake Albert Nile known as the Buligi circuit. You'll catch the highest concentration of animals in the wilds of Murchison Falls. You'll cross to the Northern bank with the ferry and set up for an early morning game drive. Your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalos, and rare hyenas. Afterward, you'll come back for your lunch and relax for a few minutes. Later, you'll take a magnificent boat cruise to the base of the majestic Murchison Falls, one of the world’s most powerful falls with natural water. Here, you will see crocodiles, hippos, and spectacular bird life including the rare shoebill stork. You'll return for your dinner and overnight stay at Parkside Safari Lodge.

Day 03: Visit the Top of the Falls and Travel back to Kampala
